is a retreat center for the study and practice of Buddhist meditation in the tradition of the Karma Kagyu School. The Kagyu School is one of the four main schools of Tibetian Buddhism. Head of this school is His Holiness XVII. Gyalwa Karmapa Urgen Trinley Dorje. In his function as patron of the association and of the house, he named the center Karma Tekchen Yi Ong Ling, a "place of Mahayana Buddhism of the Karma Kagyu tradition, where the wishes of the mind are spontaniously fulfilled".
The very honourable
Thrangu Rinpoche, one of the most eminent masters of meditation, and scholar of the Karma Kagyu school, is the spiritual director of our center. The previous activities of the house, in which the variety of Buddhist teachings and their openness in religious questions are represented, are continued.
The retreat center in Halscheid is the perfect place for retreats and studies of the Buddhadharma, for groups in courses as well as for single retreatants. It is a place of silence and relaxation, near the village Halscheid, in the middle of gently rolling hills, surrounded by forest.
The perfect conditions for single retreats, which can be conducted by Lama Kunga are available for reduced day-rates. |
